• I would not normally post the Ingress considerations until nearer the time, but events have sort of forced my hand. What follows was written mid January and sent to the Editor of the APAI Journal on the 30th January.

    Aries Ingress 2024 London.

Before launching into the Aries Ingress, I feel it worthwhile taking a view of the whole year as there are some major events happening. I will start with the eclipses.  We have “5” events this year. The first is the Lunar eclipse on the 25th March, followed by a total Solar eclipse on the 8th April. The next eclipses fall in September/October. There is a partial lunar eclipse on the 18th September followed by the annular Solar eclipse on 2nd October, then an “almost” lunar eclipse on the 17th October.  Towards the end of May (25th), Jupiter moves into a sign of his detriment, Gemini where he will remain until early June 2025. Mercury moves his retrograde cycle from Earth to Fire. This report will cover the period from the 20th March to 20th June 2024 as a cardinal sign rises therefore this chart will only cover the Spring quarter. We need to view all four cardinal ingresses to get an idea of the flavour of the year. Straight away we can say for the UK this indicates a year of change.

This report will cover the period from the 20th March to 20th June 2024 as a cardinal sign rises therefore this chart will only cover the Spring quarter. We need to view all four cardinal ingresses to get an idea of the flavour of the year. Straight away we can say for the UK this indicates a year of change.

As Capricorn is the Ascending sign, we need to consider both Saturn, the ruler of Capricorn as well as Mars, who is the exalted ruler of Capricorn.

In this chart 6 of the 7 planets are contained within 800. The ultimate rulers are Venus and Jupiter, the two benefics. It is a nocturnal chart, the Moon is in a fire sign; therefore we want to consider Jupiter, Sun and Saturn.

The Moon, general indicator of the people is in the 8th sign of Leo and is very close to the Rising degree of King Charles III.

This quarter sees a total eclipse falling on the degree of the Sun’s exaltation. We will come to what that may indicate further on.

As usual I start by finding when the planets were in similar positions looking from Mars through to Saturn plus the Sun. I went back to 1600 including Mars in the mix, but had no hits. I took Mars out and looked for the positions still going back to 1600. The only years that came up were April 1905, April 1964 and March 1965. Obviously the only date that corresponds with the actual Aries Ingress is March 1965.

As with this year, the rising sign was Cardinal (Libra), so that year also each quarter was independent.

There was news on the 18th March that Cosmonaut Alexey Leonov became the first man to walk in space (12 mins).  On the 23rd March NASA launched the first 2 person rocket into Earth orbit (Gemini 3)and the Indo-Pakistani war began.

Here at home the first PizzaExpress opened in London on the 27th March, leading to an explosion of take away establishments. (I won’t mention the health issues caused by diets of fast food, there is enough in the medical press to satiate your curiosity). This was followed by the first branch of KFC on the 19th May in Lancashire.

In politics, the Conservatives made huge gains in the Local UK elections on the 13th May 1965. I think they may wish those days would come again.

As always, the planet ruling the Rising Sign indicates the people, with the Moon as secondary indicator of the people.  We are also supposed to consider the lunation prior to the Ingres as this degree can be a trigger over the next couple of months.  I will just focus on the lunations over the coming few months.

Generally speaking where the Lights are placed is where our attention is drawn.

As previously noted, the Moon is in the 8th place of Leo indicating a focus on the assets of others, death, taxes and The Privy Council (this is a body of mostly Lords and MPs who advise the Monarch).

The Sun in the 4th sign draws our attention to matters pertaining to the land and the opposition to the sitting government. However, in a quadrant system, the Sun falls in the 2nd house equating to the people’s money, including trading and resources.  As this cusp falls under the remit of Saturn and contains both malefics, this does not look promising for the people. Their money is damaged. This is further emphasised when we note Venus is besieged by the malefics, neither of whom have any dignity. This brings in matters related to the 5th sign, or 4th place; as well as the 9th place or 10th sign. There is damage to government, foreign policies and the Law.

Mars as always is an important player and we find him in the final degrees of Aquarius where he is peregrine. He has no dignity and is in aversion to his dispositor. Not only does Mars rule the 3rd or 4th place, he also has rulership over the MC point and the 11th sign. This indicates the inability of those in power to control the affairs of state or the country. They are rudderless. Once Mars moves into Pisces, he will gain a little authority via nocturnal triplicity dignity, but it will not be enough to protect the people or the country from the dictates of others. The Advisors to the Government may stick rigidly to their ideas and not allow for the reality of the plight of the people. It may take until late Spring before there is a change in attitude, but that will be too late for many people who may experience further cuts in the value of their money.

On a brighter note; Mars moves into his home sign of Aries on the 30th April and then moves to trine the degree of the Ingress Moon on the 5th May.  This could see matters relating to trade agreements, or financial agreements being altered in some way, but whether that will be to the benefit of the people at large remains to be seen.

The Full Moon on the 25th March 2024 at 50 Libra is a Penumbral Lunar Eclipse and serves to highlight matters relating to the Ruling Party, as well as the land and the opposition party.

The previous time this lunation occurred at this degree was back in 2005 when the former Prime Minister James Callaghan died at the age of 92 and Blair dissolved Parliament prior to the General Election on the 5th May. The Angles of the Aries Ingress 2005 were fixed, indicating no change in the Ruling party. (This isn’t always so but I have found it generally holds good). There was no change in the Government in 2005, Labour still held a majority and continued in power for a third term.

On the 1st April 2024, Mercury stations retrograde. He can see the 6th sign of Gemini, but is in aversion to the 9th sign of Virgo. This suggests once again, we may see some action from the Unions.

On the 8th April we have the Total Solar Eclipse at 190 Aries.

The Eclipse falling as it does on the Exaltation degree of the Sun is very close to Mercury of the Ingress chart. But more importantly, this Eclipse squares the Sun and Moon of the Princess of Wales chart and opposes her natal Saturn. It also squares the Queen’s Mercury at 190 Cancer. Prince William’s Saturn is at 150 Libra, so he will not be as affected as the Princess’ Saturn, but his Saturn is conjunct the Kings Venus at 160 Libra.  I feel there will be some important news regarding the immediate royal family. It should not be overlooked that the Duke of Sussex also has his Venus at 17 Libra.

If we look further at the younger Royal family; Prince George of Wales, who like his mother was born at a full moon in cardinal signs, has his Mercury mid Cancer, Princess Charlotte of Wales has her Moon at 200 Libra and Prince Louis of Wales has his Mars at 190 Capricorn. So I feel it safe to say over the coming year, there will be news around the Royal family.

The Eclipse will not really visible in the UK so won’t have the same import on events as it will in America.

This eclipse is followed by the conjunctions of Mars to Saturn, Sun to Mercury and Moon with Jupiter over the next few days. These fall in the 3rd, 4th and 5th signs.  We could see more strikes or problems with our public transport systems, the Post Office (The Horizon scandal will go on for a long time!) is already in decline and asking to cut out weekend posting. So far this has been rebuffed, but it could lead to further stoppages by postmen and postmasters. As well as indicating the Opposition party, the 4th also has relevance with the wives of the Leaders; we may have news regarding an important woman and finally, issues may be raised over the birth rate.

The following lunation at 40 Scorpio on the 23rd April may indicate a spell of stormy weather across the UK. Mercury stations direct on the degree of the North Node of the Aries Ingress chart.  On the 30th April Mars comes into Aries and obviously will trigger the Sun’s Ingress degree.  This could raise issues with the “Nobles” and 8th house matters, or simply matters around taxation and the assets of others.

On the 8th May there is a new Moon at 180 Taurus falling on the degree IC degree of the Aries Ingress.  The Benefics bracket this lunation; Venus at 100 and Jupiter at 250. This looks promising for the land and assets of the people, but in what way and how? Time will tell. Perhaps people will finally value their farmers and start to support our country being self sufficient?

The next Full Moon (23rd May at 20 Sagittarius) doesn’t really add much to the story except at the same time Venus and Jupiter conjoin on 29 Taurus, the degree of Alycone, the brightest star in the Pleiades cluster.  Alycone is said to be of the nature of Mars and the Moon. According to Robson, this is not the happiest combo! Combining his interpretations we get: loss of fortune, disgrace, immorality, deceit, legal and ecclesiastical problems, banishment or imprisonment! Whether this refers to some of the “Leaders” during the Covid crisis or the terrible Post Office Horizon scandal, we will find out!  But I do think we will see some heads roll if only for the Government to save face and attract some voters.

The following new Moon is on the 6th June at 16 Gemini, and we have 5 of the 7 traditional planets in Gemini. Venus is conjoined to both Sun and Moon. Jupiter and Mercury are co-present.

Gemini is the 6th sign of the Aries Ingress chart and is one of the disadvantaged houses but, it is the 10th from the Part of Fortune and as such, an important house. As noted earlier, this is the place relating to Unions, the armed forces, as well as the general workforce and the health or otherwise of the people. At the time of writing this, it has been mooted there may be a need for general conscription as world policies seem determined towards war and not peace. However, I feel it more likely we will see calls for unions and government to come together to thrash out the pay demands of so many. All in all, this quarter does not look that riveting, but events during this quarter will set the scene for the Summer months.
